I just wanted to share something with you. We see doom and gloom news all the time and it sometimes makes you wonder where all the good guys have gone.

I had this happen just yesterday and it warmed my heart. I was standing in a queue waiting to pick up a pair of shoes I had put in the previous week. I fished in my wallet for the card to redeem them and I felt a tug on my trouser leg.

I looked down and saw this gorgeous little girl, about six or seven years old. “Excuse me.” She said. “You dropped your card.” She pointed down to one of my credit cards that had become dislodged.

I bent over and retrieved the card. “Thank you.” I said.

She nodded, eyes shining. I looked across to her parents and nodded. They smiled and nodded back.

The warmth of the exchange had a profound effect on me. That made my day.

Each day I try to have at least one in depth interaction with someone else. I need them to know I care. The return I receive is far in excess of the effort I make.

Try it sometime.
